Welcome to the Careers section of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Website!

The Metropolitan Police Department is home to some of the nation’s finest police officers and civilian employees. Established in 1808, our Department has a rich history and many traditions. We strive to provide the city of St. Louis with the best possible police service. We are constantly seeking new employees with the skills and experience to help us meet that goal. Police service is one of the most rewarding careers you’ll find. Police Officers interact day to day with citizens and truly have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of St. Louisans. Civilian employees are not police officers, but their expertise and knowledge help to support police officers as well as the overall mission of the Department. Every employee is valued and we are honored to serve the citizens of St. Louis.
