The Office of the Chief of Police oversees Planning & Research, Information Technology, Intelligence, Public Information and Operational Planning. Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Reagan
Lt. Col. Timothy Reagan joined the Metropolitan Police Department on October 10, 1977. Lt. Col. Reagan worked in the Bureau of Field Operations until 1981. He then served in the Intelligence Unit where he was assigned to the Governor’s Security Detail and was a member of the President’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. In June of 1987, Lt. Col Reagan was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He served in the Sixth and Ninth Districts before working for two years as a Detective Sergeant in the Internal Affairs Division. In 1990, he became an Administrative Aide to the Deputy Chief in the Bureau of Field Operations, where he coordinated and scheduled training and special events as well as worked with police and city officials to implement Departmental policies. Lt. Col. Reagan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in September of 1991. He served in the Third District, Traffic Safety and with the Bureau of Field Operations. In this role, Lt. Col. Reagan coordinated the Centennial Conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, which was attended by more than 10,000 delegates. In June of 1995, Lt. Col. Reagan was promoted to the rank of Captain. In that role, he served as Commander of the Prisoner Processing Division, First District and Intelligence Division. Lt. Col. Reagan was promoted to the rank of Major in August of 2000 and served as Commander of the Central Patrol Division. He also served as Deputy Secretary to the Board of Police Commissioners in 2001 and as Secretary in 2002. He was promoted to his current rank in November of 2003. As a Lieutenant Colonel he has served as the Commander of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Bureau of Auxiliary Services. In 2009, Lt. Col. Reagan assumed his current position as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Chief of Police. Lt. Col. Reagan is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He earned a Master in Business Administration from Lindenwood University, a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and an Associate of Arts degree from Meramec Community College. In 2004, Lt. Col. Reagan attended the prestigious Senior Management Institute for Police at Boston University, a program of the Police Executive Research Forum. He is a member of several professional organizations and previously served as president of the FBI Academy Associates—Eastern District of Missouri. A lifelong resident of St. Louis, Lt. Col. Reagan is married to Joann, who is a registered nurse. They live in the Holly Hills neighborhood and have three children: Thomas, Mollie, and Ali. |
