New* The Board of Police Commissioners recently approved a Department Volunteer Program which allows citizens, including retired members, to volunteer their time in service to the Department. A number of major police departments across the United States have similar programs. Volunteers will perform administrative duties within the Department and will not have any police enforcement responsibilities. In addition, volunteers will not be paid or provided Department benefits. Contact Human Resources for more information.
