G.R.E.A.T. Schools

Currently G.R.E.A.T. operates in sixteen schools. Schools were initially chosen by the SLMPD’s Gang Unit, based on the high incidences of gang activity in the neighborhood where the schools are located.
G.R.E.A.T. Officers go into their assigned classrooms once a week for one hour to teach the life skills curriculum.

G.R.E.A.T. Officers work closely with classroom teachers as they deliver the program curriculum. Teachers are partners in the process of helping our young people make better decisions that will affect their future.
