Dear Citizens,
On behalf of the Officers assigned to District Four, welcome to the District Four Web Page! The Commanders, Supervisors and Officers of the District are committed to providing the best police service possible to the citizens and businesses in our District. District Four Officers can be seen patrolling the area on bicycles, tri-cars, Vespas, ATVs, on foot and in vehicles to provide service throughout the District. District Four offers diverse neighborhoods, a strong business community, the St. Louis sports arenas, and the city’s finest dining and entertainment venues. The District is also home to many of the city’s historic sites and landmarks including the Gateway Arch, Old Court House, Old Cathedral and Soldiers Memorial. The officers in the Fourth District have worked to forge partnerships with the citizens and business groups in the area including the Partnership for Downtown St. Louis. We will continue to work toward making District Four a safe area for residents, businesses and visitors.

Get Involved in Community Meetings
Fourth District residents are encouraged to attend their respective Neighborhood meetings. Fourth District officers are in attendance at each of these meetings in order to address the questions and concerns of residents.

2009 Officer of the Year – Rodney Hickman
On July 2, Officer Hickman received information that a subject was wanted for a Bank Robbery in Florida and was in the Fourth District. Officer Hickman was able to locate the suspect and take him into custody. The subject was extradited to the State of Florida to face Bank Robbery charges. On July 14 The US Bank located at 3881 Gravois was robbed. Officer Hickman, along with other Fourth District Officers received information about the location of the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody and the money taken during the robbery was recovered.
2010 Officer Awards
January – Police Officers of the Month Timothy Bockskopf and Travis Vuichard
In mid-January there were a string of robberies throughout the city which were similar and nature. Each victim also provided a similar description of the suspects. Officers Bockskopf and Vuichard received a description of the suspects and their vehicle. On January 16, the Officers located the vehicle. The followed the vehicle which was eventually involved in an accident on I-70. The suspects fled on foot but were taken into custody by Officers Bockskopf and Vuichard with assistance from other officers.
February – Police Officer of the Month Christopher Seger
On February 18, Officer Seger received a call for a suspicious person on the ledge of an apartment building. Officer Seger met with witnesses and the investigation revealed two apartments had been burglarized. Officer Seger continued to gather evidence and eventually a suspect was arrested and the Circuit Attorney’s Office issued warrants.
April – Police Officers of the Month Andrew Griffin, Walter Schultz and Robert Stuart
On April 4, officers in the Fourth District were searching for a person who had stolen a car and was committing robberies in the downtown area. The victims of these incidents had provided the officers with a description of the suspect and the car used in the incidents. Probationary Police Officer Walter was driving home from work later that day when he saw the vehicle officers were searching for earlier. Officer Walter contacted Officers Griffin and Stuart to let them know the location of the car. Officers Griffin and Stuart spotted the car which eventually ran a traffic light striking another vehicle. The officers were able to take the suspect into custody.
May – Police Officer of the Month Marc Wasem
On March 30, Officer Wasem was returning home when he saw a group of people standing on the parking lot across the street. Officer Wasem approached the men and one of the subjects displayed a gun and demanded Officer Wasem’s property. Officer Wasem indentified himself as a police officer and the four suspects ran from the scene. The armed suspect took out his weapon and fired multiple shots at the officer. Officer Wasem returned fire and pursued the suspect on foot eventually tackling him to the ground. Other Officers responded and were able to take the suspect into custody.
Fourth District
The Fourth District includes the neighborhoods of Carr Square, Columbus Square, Downtown, Downtown West, Lafayette Square, LaSalle, Peabody-Darst-Webbe and portions of North Riverfront, Old North St. Louis and St. Louis Place.
